Sunset Wedding Photos in Tofino || Warren & Kim || Tofino Photographer

I'm just going to say it—Kim & Warren are two of my favourite people that I have ever photographed in Tofino. They are one of the kindest, funniest, most down-to-earth, coolest couples I have ever met. I took their engagement photos in Tofino the summer before last and I was beyond stoked when they asked me to do some coastal wedding pictures for them this past summer. They had just officially gotten married in Alberta prior to coming out here for a little honeymoon trip. Since they spend so much time out on the island (Warren is a fishing guide) it was only natural that they get some epic sunset wedding photos in Tofino. We met at my all time favourite beach and went on a stroll complete wi

Beach Engagement Photos in Tofino || Claire & Tyler || Tofino Photographer

For me the best part about being a Tofino photographer is that my studio is this incredible, ever-changing coastline. The colour of the water and sky differ on a daily basis and every photo session is completely unique. Claire and Tyler contacted me looking beach engagement photos in Tofino and lets just say the sky delivered something pretty amazing for them. We went into the forest too because I like a variety of locations for engagement photos. Claire and Tyler were a joyous duo and I laughed hysterically as they told me their engagement story (Tyler popped the question on the top of a mountain!) and we strolled around one of my favourite spots for beach engagement photos in Tofino. Anniversary Photos in Tofino || Angela & Ryan

Not a day goes by that I don't thank my lucky stars that my full time job is being a photographer in Tofino and Ucluelet. It is not a rare occurrence for me to exclaim "I LOVE MY JOB!"— in the presence of others, or when I am driving home alone, after a shoot. Giving Angela and Ryan anniversary photos in Tofino definitely added to the I-love-my-job stack. Angela and Ryan had gotten engaged 10 years ago while on a vacation in Ucluelet. A local had given them directions to a hidden trail leading to an even more secluded beach. It was here that Ryan asked Angela to be his forever love. Fast forward 10 years and they were back on the island to celebrate their anniversary. We went back to the sam

August Wedding on Vancouver Island || Emma & Keanan || Port Alberni

Emma and Keanan's August wedding on Vancouver Island was a day to remember! The forecast had been calling for rain on their wedding day for an entire week leading up to the actual day. I packed a rain shield for my camera and the world's largest umbrella and had every intention of getting soaked for 8 hours. As the morning progressed, the rain clouds departed and the sky brightened to the perfect shade of beautiful. Surrounded by their friends and family, they read their hand written vows and promised their lifetime to one another. One of the things I love about weddings on Vancouver Island in August is the amount of daylight hours. It makes it easy to choose a few different beautiful locati

Nguyen Family || Wya Beach || Family Photographer Tofino

The Nguyen family had a family photo session on their trip to Tofino & Ucluelet and the three of them were all smiles despite the foggy day. It was their son's first camping trip and Wya Point Campground was their first pick (they booked a year in advance!). The beach is one of my favourite in the area for it's dramatic features and rocky backdrop. I loved this family's choice of clothing, the colours really popped in the pictures. I often get asked what to wear for the family photos in Tofino and my short answer is: what you will feel most comfortable in. For some, getting their picture taken can be daunting. If you are in an outfit you feel great in, you will feel your best in front of the

Proposing in Tofino || Tina & Frank || Pettinger Point, Cox Bay

Proposing in Tofino is one of the best ideas you have ever had. Seriously, in my totally unbiased opinion, there is no better place to ask your lover to spend the rest of their life with you. The landscape is so incredibly stunning, you will feel as if you are in a coastal dreamland and it is the perfect setting for romance and surprises! Tina and Frank popped out of the city for the weekend for a short vacay and Tina had no idea that Frank would be proposing while they were in Tofino. Frank and I had the perfect plan—a sunset proposal at Cox Bay. He set up a picnic and I hid up on the rocks with my camera. Then once we were ready, he went and got Tina from their room at Long Beach Lodge. Sh

Eloping to Tofino || Adam & Maryanne || Tofino Wedding Photographer

There are no rules for eloping to Tofino—just the two of you, your close friends or family members, your dog as the only guest, it's all ok with us! Adam and Maryanne came to Tofino for their very laid back, boho beach elopement. A few guests attended, including their absolutely adorable children and their pooch and they brought a cooler full of refreshments for after the ceremony. They made my job easy and it is carefree weddings like these that make me so grateful to be here on this beautiful coast. When you think of eloping to Tofino, just remember that you can do whatever you want! Thanks for letting me capture your special afternoon Adam & Maryanne, it was truly wonderful. * for more T
