I have been a photographer in Tofino for a very long time and the landscape here is incredible. It is a wondrous place to make imagery. This said, I absolutely love to travel and photograph people and places where everything is completely different. The British Virgin Islands is about as different as you can get from Tofino. The ocean is warm and clear translucent turquoise, the sand is fine and pure white. The light is soft, airy and buttery and it makes everything glow.


Britt and Matt live in the BVI's full time with their two island rescue dogs Beau & Kiki. They usually have a foster dog hanging out at their place as well. We went to the beach just down the hill from their house and I took some pictures of their little family of four, plus an adorable foster puppy that I ended up bringing back to Canada with me (we found her an amazing forever home in Ucluelet).


When I travel, I bring one camera and one lens and my pictures take on my tropical persona—laidback and flowy. These pictures were some of my favourites from last season. Thanks Britt & Matt for being yourselves and helping the island dogs ox
