Destination Wedding in Playa Grande, Costa Rica || Claire & Rob

Claire contacted me when she started planning her destination wedding in Playa Grande, Costa Rica. She and her partner Rob live in Whistler, and she was intrigued that I spend my time and work in both Tofino, as well as in Playa Grande. After visiting Costa Rica several years ago, they decided to get married there as a middle ground for their families who would be traveling from Australia and the UK.

After many months of planning, their big day arrived. Their vacation rental in Palm Beach Estates, Las Velas Blancas was the perfect spot for their wedding group with it's expansive grounds, large house, multiple cabinas and beautiful pool area. Claire and Rob read their own vows, including a vow to let the other one have first tracks on a powder day (true love for sure!) and exchanged rings that Rob had made himself. I teared up a tiny bit behind the lens while shooting their ceremony.

After Claire promised to give Rob first tracks on a powder day, we took some pictures with beautiful Playa Grande as the back drop. Even though I now shoot more weddings in Tofino, there is something special about coming back to Costa Rica where I got my start as a professional photographer and basking in the perfect light right before the sun goes down. Thank for Claire & Rob for letting me capture your destination wedding in Playa Grande, Costa Rica, it was one for the books.
